Alfonso Montero joins Salkantay Partners’ team

Alfonso joined Salkantay to lead the Public Markets practice. He will also join the investment committee in our Venture Capital fund (Salkantay Exponential Fund).

Alfonso was CIO of Credicorp Capital between 2013 and 2019, where he managed a portfolio of US $ 7.5 billion, a result of the merger of operations in Chile, Peru and Colombia. Previously, he founded Creuza Advisors, the first multi-family office in Peru, and served as Deputy Director of Investments at Prima AFP, where he was responsible for the investment portfolios of Prima AFP, for US$ 6.5 billion, since its inception. Alfonso has an MBA from Stanford University and a BA in Philosophy from Dartmouth College.

About his incorporation as a member of the Investment Committee of the Venture Capital fund, Alfonso commented: “VC is the asset class with the biggest growth projection in Latin America in the coming years.”
