Salkantay Partners joins Capria, a global investment firm leading the largest network of VC fund managers in emerging markets

September 2nd, 2019. Salkantay Partners, an investment firm based in Peru that creates value by collaborating with intrepid entrepreneurs, visionary investors and its allies, recently joined the Capria Network. We are the first Peruvian member of the largest network of Venture Capital fund managers in emerging markets.

Salkantay Partners joins forces with Capria Network in order to launch its first Venture Capital fund, Salkantay Exponential Fund (SXF). Together with the government support of the Capital Emprendedor program from Innovate Peru, we will launch the first VC fund based in Perú with a regional focus and a global reach.

Salkantay seeks to be a catalyst in the Latin American ecosystem, taking advantage of the unique moment that both Perú and the region are facing. During 2018, VC investments in Perú were multiplied by 5X and by 4X in the Pacific Alliance (PA). The PA is a huge potential market of 200 millions consumers and US$ 4 trillions in GDP.

In this context, Salkantay has structured its fund to contribute to this wave of growth and innovation. SXF is capitalizing the accelerated growth in local innovation and Peru’s increasing integration to the regional ecosystem with the vision of becoming a catalytic agent of the digital transformation era with the support of its international allies and Capria.

Capria is a global investment firm leading the largest of VC fund managers in emerging markets. There are 19 member around the world that invest in 37 countries. The network provides know-how, resources and connections to its members which contributes to accelerate the fund formation and improve their operations. It also allows to cooperate and exchange experiences between members to review deals, discuss best practices and increase individual exposure to an international entrepreneurship ecosystem.
